Bespoke Sauna

A sauna designed for you, crafted in the French Alps

A solution for every space

A bespoke sauna adapts to your space, your wishes and the way you use it, not the other way round. At Storvatt, we design and build it in France, in our workshop in Albertville, for private clients and professionals alike.

A nook under the eaves, an old cellar, a hotel spa, a room to fit out in your chalet: every space has its own constraints and its own character. Our role is to make the most of it and create a sauna that truly reflects you.

A bespoke sauna designed around your space

The sauna is an age-old tradition. Bespoke design gives it a new freedom. Dimensions, shapes, materials, openings, finishes: every detail is decided with you. Whether it is all wood, has a glass wall opening onto the mountains or is clad from floor to ceiling, we love projects that are out of the ordinary. Your idea becomes a plan, then a one-of-a-kind sauna, made just for you.

For private clients

Dreaming of a sauna in your bathroom, basement or chalet? We design a place to unwind on the scale of your home, blending into its architecture and interior design. A wellness space to share with family or friends, every day.

For professionals

Hotels, rental chalets, holiday cottages, inns, mountain refuges, wellness centres: a bespoke sauna adds value to your establishment and enhances your guests’ experience. We tailor it to your number of guests, your space and the identity of your venue.

OUR NATURAL & THERMO-TREATED WOOD SPECIES

RED CEDAR

Red Cedar is Størvatt’s signature wood. Naturally rot-resistant, it requires no special maintenance. Its warm tone and woody scent create an enveloping atmosphere, typical of a Nordic sauna. Available in natural and thermo-treated versions.

LINDEN

Linden, a wood traditionally used in Scandinavian saunas, is light in colour, even-grained and smooth to the touch. Resin-free and almost odourless, it suits those who prefer a neutral, bright atmosphere.Available in natural and thermo-treated versions.

AYOUS

Light and stable, ayous is a pale tropical wood with a fine, even grain. It conducts little heat and stays comfortable against the skin, making it a popular choice for benches and backrests.Available in natural and thermo-treated versions.

ASPEN

Aspen is a pale, resin-free and virtually odourless wood. It is well suited to surfaces that come into contact with the skin, and to people who are sensitive to the scent of wood.Available in natural and thermo-treated versions.

POPLAR

Light in colour and weight, poplar is a resin-free wood with a clean, contemporary look. It blends easily into interiors with natural tones.Available in natural and thermo-treated versions.

Clear glass

Transparent and minimalist, clear glass fully opens your sauna onto its surroundings: a view of the peaks, a garden or your bathroom. It lets in natural light and makes the space feel larger.

Etched glass

Etched glass personalises your sauna with a pattern, a logo or a design of your choice. It adds a unique touch and preserves a degree of privacy while still letting light through. A popular option with hotels and venues looking to showcase their identity.

Smoked glass

With its subtle tint, smoked glass creates a soft, hushed atmosphere that invites relaxation. It reduces visibility from outside for greater privacy, while keeping the sauna open to its surroundings. Its elegant finish suits contemporary interiors as well as the warm tones of the wood.

A bespoke sauna has no list price: its cost depends on your dimensions, the wood species you choose, the glazing, the finishes and the constraints of your space. The price is therefore set on request, after our design office has reviewed your project.

As a guide, our bespoke projects start at €30,000. Tell us about your project and we will let you know quickly whether it can be considered.
